Chief Financial Officer
Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for oversight of all financial aspects of the organization including accounting practices, financial reporting, budgeting, tax return preparation, audit, cash management, forecasting, asset management and strategic / long-range plans.
The Chief Financial Officer manages the Accounting, Human Resources and IT operations of the agency.
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the CFO assists in the overall leadership and direction of the agency and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct the ongoing operations of the JCC’s accounting and financial reporting functions, including general ledger, financial statement preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and collection, payroll, bank reconciliation, and tax return preparation
  • Develop and monitor the JCC’s annual operating and capital budgets ; work with department heads and program directors to ensure that budgets are accurate and followed
  • Provide the assistance and supervision necessary for all department heads to have the necessary tools to manage the financial aspects of their departments
  • Monitor and forecast cash flow and cash requirements
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the JCC’s external auditors to assure that effective systems of internal control are established and that the annual audit is completed on a timely basis
  • Administer the JCC’s insurance programs, assuring that appropriate risk management techniques are in place and that the assets of the agency are adequately protected
  • Prepare special budgets and other reports as may be required by the UJA Federation, governmental agencies, special grant funders and other interested parties
  • Manage all vendor relations and contracts
  • Develop and provide ongoing supervision of purchasing system
  • Develop and implement strategies for management of the agency’s information systems, including hardware, software, support and services
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive program of personnel practices and employee benefits offerings and establish procedures for the maintenance of all personnel records
  • Ensure agency compliance with employee union contract requirements. Represent the agency in all union related matters
  • Serve as a key member of the agency’s executive management team and interrelate with all co-workers and lay leaders in a cooperative and productive fashion

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or other business related field
  • CPA / MBA preferred
  • Managerial experience in not-for-profit financial management with budget of at least $5 million
  • Demonstrated track record of motivating and energizing others to share in and work toward a common vision
  • Clear and well-defined vision for, and commitment to, the unique role that Jewish Community Centers play in the building of a meaningful Jewish community

Job Description: Coach gymnastics to team and recreational classes. Flexible afternoon, evening, and weekend hours. Sunday afternoons are required.

Qualifications: Experience coaching USAG levels 4-7.

Job Description: Coach recreational gymnastics to children of all ages. Flexible afternoon, evening, and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Some coaching experience preferred but experience working with children of all ages necessary. Must have a strong interest in the sport of gymnastics or cheerleading.
